The main reason for installing a dog fence is of course to keep your dog safe. In order to train your pet where its ‘safe zone’ is, a wireless dog fence can be installed to stop them running out into traffic or getting into your neighbour’s garden.
To give your dog or cat the freedom that they need, fitting a system where they can still run around yet remain safe is vital for their wellbeing and your peace of mind. Training your pet whilst using these pet containment systems is a safe and effective method for keeping your pet safe from harm.
A dog fence wireless system can stop your dog from going beyond its boundaries. And the beauty of the system is that you can set those boundaries. The wire gets buried around the perimeters of your house which could include both the front and back gardens. To begin the training, you just walk your dog around the boundaries on a leash. Flags placed above the wire will show him where he shouldn’t go beyond, and when walking around on a leash, a tug and command of ‘Stay’ teaches him that he isn’t to go any further.
The wire is connected up to a transmitter, and receiver which is on your dog’s collar. When he gets too close to the flags, a correction is sent through the collar to make sure he backs away. After a few uses, he will know not to go near the flags at all.
Dog fences aren’t just for dogs! If you want to keep your cat from darting into the road then try installing a cat fence. Cats are harder to train, so a cat fence will help keep your cat safe and can make you feel relaxed even when it is left unattended.
